Easter is over… now what?

April 6th, 2010 by Kristi Stephens

We’re a few days past Easter.

I’m no longer stuffed with lamb roast.

The bags have been unpacked.

The excitement of Elijah visiting our seder still sparkles a bit in my daughter’s eyes. ;)

My question for us to consider is this: what difference does it make? If we really believe that our Savior rose from the dead and walked triumphantly out from his grave that day – are we living any differently because of it?  Does it change our lives?

It should.

The resurrection radically changed the lives of Jesus’ followers.  Has it transformed us in the same way?

This week we’ll be taking some time each day to reflect on the impact of His resurrection… and it will lead us into our next series which we will begin together on Monday. In the meantime, I’d love to hear from you – how does the resurrection of Jesus impact your life?  Your faith?  Your confidence?  Your hope?

My thoughts exactly as I’ve been reading through the book of Acts. Just read chapter 6 this morning – Stephen, who endured false accusations just like Christ, and was murdered – not to give the world eternal life, but for the sake of suffering for Christ. And I just say, wow. I am happy to just be a blessing to someone and thank God whenever He allows me to be a part of His plan.

Such good questions, Kristi. Today it changed my life in the way I responded when I felt ignored by a “person,” but knew my Lord is ever mindful of us. It changed my life when I sifted out the doings of the day with my teenager and gave her hope in the One who is in authority over all the things of life here. Knowing Jesus is alive helps me take a big, deep breath and sigh relief. :) Looking forward to the reflections and Monday.

I’ve been struggling through this idea, Kristi. Am I truly changed by the encounter I have had over the past few days with the Living God? Am I willing to lay down those things I hold dear and trust them to His able care? Am I open to new doors and dreams or will I hold tightly to what I thought I understood?

I, like Julie, anticipate your reflections and what is coming next!

    Kristi,

I was reading Anne-Marie’s blog and I clicked through your picture to this delightful blog.

I say delightful because of your faith and love for our Lord Jesus Christ.

My thoughts when I was worshipping Him on Easter morning: “Son of man, and Son of God” the song said. I was thinking about how He rose victorious over every single thing you and I face on a day to day basis; yet sinless in His humanity. And, then to know that He has made the way for us as well to live as He did on the earth. It made me want to shed every last shred of my own pride, selfishness and self-pity. And then to realize that we too have risen with Him into the heavenly estate to which He reigns, sitting, forever making intercession for us. Wow, the impact amazed me and filled me with such incredible joy.

    Blessings to you!

I hope to follow your journeyings!
