It’s Ultimate Blog Party time!! This is my second year participating in the “UBP,” and it was such fun to meet tons of amazing bloggers last year.
Come on in and make yourself comfy in my ‘virtual living room!’
I’m a wife and mom who loves the Lord Jesus Christ. I’ve frequently been told that I am an “old soul” – I tend to be a serious thinker, but I absolutely love a good laugh! From time to time I’ll blog about homemaking, our philosophy of homeschooling, marriage, and other “life stuff”… but the real heartbeat of my blog is the Word of God.
I’m addicted to teaching the Word of God!
I have a Bible degree from Cedarville University, and while I was passionate about what I was learning, I really had no idea how God would use it in my life. I thought I’d be writing curriculum, working in a church, serving as a missionary, or some other “obvious” ministry path.
Instead, I am home full time with my kiddos. I have found that serving my husband and family is a high calling and great ministry in and of itself. God has also allowed me the privilege of teaching women the Word of God – in our church, in our home… and from my ‘online living room.’ :)
When I started blogging almost two years ago (at “Run the Earth, Watch the Sky”), I didn’t have a clear focus in mind. I wrote devotional overviews of the Old Testament studies I was teaching and also dabbled in sharing recipes, homekeeping tips, house projects, “works for me” ideas, and other randomness. While I enjoyed it, this year God has refocused me – more than knowing how to organize a drawer or make a healthy snack, I long for my readers to walk with me through deeper discovery of the richness of Scripture and be stunned by the bigness of our God!
If you are new to the Bible, join the journey and learn! I would love to help you work through any questions you may have and help you gain a bigger perspective of God’s story in Scripture. If you are a long-time Jesus-follower, welcome! Meeting like-minded women and sharpening one another has been such a treasured part of blogging for me! If you’re somewhere in between but feel tugged to learn more… jump on for the ride. Questions are absolutely welcome – we are all works in progress!

Running in the path of God’s commands is not always glamorous or easy. But it offers riches we can’t fully comprehend.

Some of you have already stopped in for a preview, but it’s official! Welcome to my new digs!
There are still a few fussy little things we’re working on, but overall I think we’re good to go! Katie from FlibbyPie Design has done a spectacular job! Thank you, thank you Katie!
I’m hoping to be back to a normal posting schedule tomorrow, and I’m excited to get back to that. I’ve missed all of you – this process has definitely reminded me that I am a teacher/writer, NOT a specialist with technical gobbledygook.

There are still some more links that I need to discover and fix, and my husband had a great suggestion. If you browse around the site and find links that aren’t working, please compile the URLs of pages that redirected you to blogger or gave you a “not found” message and email me.

Today is my friend Sandra’s birthday – my crazy blogging friend who writes for three blogs! Her ministry blog Heart for Him, her family blog Celebrate Every Day, and the group blog I have been guest posting on Thursdays for – Today’s Housewife.
Oh, and did I mention that Sandra reads amazing books like a machine, is in the process of writing a book, homeschools her boys, is a pastor’s wife, has the seminary degree of my dreams ;), and manages to be actively involved in ministry?
She is my hero. :) Seriously – we love this girl! If you haven’t gotten to know her yet, take a peek at her blogs. If you want a place to start, this is one of my recent favorites from her.
